E-mail Print PDF

Destiny of the Armenia-Turkey Protocols depends on further political processes, Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian stated at the Armenian National Assembly.

According to him, Armenia’s stance on the matter remains unchanged. Yerevan is ready to revive the process, if Ankara shows readiness for rapprochement. Nalbandian stressed at the moment no negotiations between Yerevan and Ankara are conducted.

“At the initial stage of the process, Yerevan did its utmost for advancement of the normalization process. Yerevan showed readiness for the Protocols’ ratification and implementation and our position concurred with that of the international community,” Nalbandian said, stressing now it is Turkey’s turn to act.  He recalled U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton stressed during her visit to Yerevan the ball is in Turkey’s court.

As to Armenia’s achievements in the normalization process, the Minister said the international community considers Armenia as a predictable partner. According to him, the world community shows understanding in many respects.
