On October 20, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev chaired a Cabinet of Ministers meeting dealing with the results of the socio-economic development over the past nine months of 2010.
Azerbaijan will never backtrack over the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict on which the country has a principled stance, said President Ilham Aliyev at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers dealing with the results of the socio-economic development over the past nine months in 2010.
The Head of State said: “Nagorno-Karabakh is Azerbaijan`s land and resolution of the problem must be based on the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. No question can be solved beyond this principle. We can not allow the second Armenian state to be established on Azerbaijan`s historical lands. The first Armenian state was created in 1918 in Azerbaijan`s lands – the territories of Iravan khanate and Zangazur region. The second Armenian state can in no way be created in Nagorno-Karabakh, which is Azerbaijan`s original land.”
The Azerbaijani leader stressed “we will protect this principled position in all international organizations”. “With our practical deeds and by strengthening our country, we are making steps closer to the day when our lands will be liberated from occupation”, the President underscored.
