Azerbaijani FM: The Whole World Community Recognizes Azerbaijan's Territorial Integrity

The Azerbaijani foreign minister said the whole world community recognized his country's territorial integrity.

Speaking to journalists, Elmar Mammadyarov said: “Nagorno-Karabakh and adjacent regions are recognized as the occupied territories on the global scale.”

“What we need to do in order to ensure the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, first and foremost, is liberation of the occupied lands so that IDPs could get back to their homelands.

Now everything depends on a report to be made by the OSCE Minsk group's co-chairs.”

Mammadyarov recalled an OSCE Minsk group fact-finding mission's visit to the occupied territories in 2005, saying “they did not travel to all the occupied regions then”.

“This visit saw the mission be in all the regions, including Kalbajar, and we hope the report will be unbiased,” he added.

The FM also touched upon recent visa changes in Azerbaijan.

“These changes have been made in line with European standards.”

Mammadyarov said: “The changes will not cause problems for the observers who will monitor the November 7 parliamentary elections in the country.”
