Karabakh Foundation Protests PBS

E-mail Print PDF

The US-based Karabakh Foundation has accused PBS of a lack of political correctness over a programme about Azerbaijani land occupied by Armenia.

The programme "History of People in Times of War and Peace" was broadcast on 24 October by PBS (the Public Broadcasting Service).

The Karabakh Foundation wrote to PBS President Paula Kerger to ask for the Azerbaijani population, driven out of Karabakh by the Armenians, to be given a voice.

The television film also failed to cover the importance of Nagorno-Karabakh to Azerbaijan’s culture and history or to mention that Azerbaijan was the first democratic republic in the East.

The Karabakh Foundation offered PBS material about the history and cultural of Azerbaijan to help rectify the omission.
