Turkey expresses determination in further cooperation with BSEC countries.
Turkey's Deputy Prime Minister Bulent Arınc said on Wednesday that Turkey was determined to increase the level of cooperation with members of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) which he said would help the region prosper.
Speaking at the 36th General Assembly of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (PABSEC) held in the northern province of Trabzon, Arınc said that Black Sea region was very important for Turkish government that had been pursuing the policy of "zero problem with neighbors".
"I can say our policy totally overlaps with the mission of PABSEC," Arınc said.
Arınc said Turkey's "zero problem" policy brought results such as removal of visa restrictions with several BSEC member countries.
Turkey has recently agreed with Russia, Albania and Serbia to lift visa requirements. Arinc said more agreements could follow in the near future.
On efforts to normalize relations between Turkey and Armenia, Arınc said Turkey was still resolute to resolve the problem and bring peace and stability to the Caucasus.
Arınc also said that member countries should exert efforts to raise influence of BSEC and PABSEC in the region, adding that bilateral and multilateral cooperation should be increased in the region.
"At this point, relations with EU become important. We, as the region, can take advantage of EU's experiences in many fields," Arınc said.
