There can be no single approach to the Kosovo and Karabakh conflicts, Polish ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary in Armenia Zdislab Rachinskiy told a news conference at the national press club in Yerevan.
He said the difference between the two conflicts is also that unlike the Kosovo issue the Karabakh conflict is not a problem of just two countries.
"Everyone knows that the South Caucasus is a center where the interests of most countries clash which complicates the resolution of the issue very much", Rachinskiy said.
He noted that therefore it is wrong to accuse only one of the parties of protracting the conflict.
"At the same time, it should be bore in mind that unlike the allies, neighbors cannot be chosen and deepening hatred and distrist are just worsening the situation", he said.
Much-promising tendencies are observed in the Karabakh settlement, said Zdislav Rachinskiy.
"The intensification of the Russian diplomacy in this issue is especially noticeable. I do not think that there will be any breakthrough in Astana but I hope for some definite developments which will promote resolution", the ambassador said.
According to Rachinskiy, the Karabakh conflict is very complicated "since there is already a discrepancy between the rights of nations for self-determination and the principle of territorial integrity".
"Europe is for the peaceful resolution of the Karabakh conflict. The war of August 2008 in Georgia showed that the resolution of conflicts through war is not positive. People will not yield if they do not want.
