The declaration adopted at the NATO summit confirms that Armenia is an aggressor country, New Azerbaijan Party (NAP) Deputy Executive Secretary Mubariz Gurbanli said in an interview with the party's official website.

The NATO summit held in Lisbon on Nov.19-20 once again approved the point of the adopted declaration, reflecting the position of the alliance, supporting the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan in the context of the conflict.

The persistence of protracted regional conflicts in South Caucasus and the Republic of Moldova continues to be a matter of great concern for the Alliance, the 35th point of the Alliance's Lisbon Summit Declaration adopted on Saturday says.

"We call on [all parties] to avoid steps that undermine regional security and stability. NATO remains committed in our support of the territorial integrity, independence and sovereignty of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Moldova, and will also continue to support efforts towards a peaceful settlement of these regional conflicts, taking into account these principles, the declaration stressed.

"The declaration adopted at the NATO summit in Lisbon made a very important emphasis on the support to Azerbaijan's territorial integrity, independence and sovereignty. The idea is that the adoption of this document is an appeal to the community, encroached upon the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, and confirms that Armenia is the aggressor country," he added.

According to him, such a statement of such a powerful organization like NATO reflects the position of the alliance member countries.

"All of this is the result of a deliberate policy of the Azerbaijani President. Adoption of such documents is an additional support to policy to restore the territorial integrity of our country," he added.
