“This was Turkey’s, particularly, Abdullah Gul’s ordinary statement to blind the international community,” referring to Turkish President’s statements, speaker of Republican Party Edward Sharmazanov said.

Speaker of Republican Party of Armenia, Edward Sharmazanov evaluated the statements of President Abdullah Gul as “tricky”. “This was Turkey’s, particularly, Abdullah Gul’s ordinary statement to blind the international community,” Panorama.am reported Sharmazanov as saying.

Gul said on Thursday that Turkey is firmly committed to pushion on with normalizing ties with Armenia. "Such problems are not easy to solve but we are determined to bring the Armenian-Turkish Protocols to life and continue our efforts towards establishing a long-lasting and comprehensive peace in the South Caucasus," he said. "Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan has an important role to play at the current stage. We expect him to maintain the role of a bold leader and statesman."

Responding Gul’s statements, “I think it would be better if Turkey’s President encouraged the National Assembly of his country to ratify the Armenian-Turkish protocols, instead of making tricky statements,” Sharmazanov said.
