There is no country in the world to be interested in Turkey’s accession to the European Union more than Armenia, Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan declared at the conference on “European perspectives within the framework of the Eastern Partnership Program and the process of negotiations on the Armenia-EU Association Agreement.

According to the report of Public Radio of Armenia, Tigran Sargsyan said that if Turkey joins the EU, Armenia will have a neighbor, which follows the European values on all questions ranging from the recognition of so called Armenian genocide to the Karabakh issue.

According to Tigran Sargsyan, Armenia has no alternative other than deepening relations with the European Union.

If Turkey, Georgia and Azerbaijan have chosen the path of European integration, they have to implement reforms deriving from European values, the Prime Minister said, adding that membership to the EU would contribute to the cooperation between the countries of the region.
