UN Secretary General Ban ki-Moon has given an exclusive interview to Kazakh Radio Liberty in Astana.

The secretary general, responding to the question of the radio station correspondent about the UN plans to attain the execution of the four resolution on Nagorno Karabakh adopted since 1993, said:

“I hope for the soonest continuation of the process of the OSCE Minsk Group. I hope the parties will continue negotiations, discuss all issues and as I understand the process of negotiations has recently received a definite impulse.

I still hope that Azerbaijan and Armenia will agree on the main principles of the peaceful resolution of this issue as soon as possible.

At the same time, I would like to call on the concerned parties-Armenia and Azerbaijan-to abstain from any provocative actions along the contact line and withdraw snipers dislocated along the line. This will help not only those two countries, but also others, taking all efforts to assist peaceful negotiations”.

The Secretary General has arrived in the Kazakh capital for the purpose of taking part in the OSCE Summit on December 1-2, where the president of Azerbaijan and Armenia arrived as well.
