Armenian Parliament to Postpone Again Voting On Bill On Recognition Of Separatist “Nagorno Karabakh Republic”

E-mail Print PDF

“Armenian parliament to postpone again voting on bill on recognition of separatist “Nagorno Karabakh Republic””, said deputy from Republican Party Razmik Zohrabyan. Previously, the recognition of bill was postponed on October 28 on ruling party’s initiative. Chairman of “Heritage” opposition faction Raffi Hovanisyan initiated to postpone voting on recognition of separatist “Nagorno Karabakh Republic” till December 9.

The bill was submitted to the parliament by this faction on October 15, 2009.

Before voting, faction chief of ruling party Galust Saakyan said that majority of the parliament would not take part in the voting, because the recognition of “NKR” does not coincide with the constructive position of Armenian president in the negotiations within the framework of OSCE Mink Group: “If the negotiation process fails, the coalition forces themselves will take the initiative to recognize Nagorno Karabakh and support the initiatives of other forces in this direction”.
