E-mail Print PDF

Works on airport construction continue in self-declared "Nagorno Karabakh Republic".

The airport will be commissioned in May 2011 and the date of the airport opening has been defined.

Sources in the civil aviation department of "NKR" said that the repair works of internal infrastructure of the passenger terminal of the airport have already completed and the finishing of the building and accommodation of its territory is currently underway.
In the next ten days the construction stage of the air station building will complete and the second stage of the restoration works-the technical equipment of the building will start afterward.

The airplanes CRJ-200 for 50 passengers will be operated there after the airport commissioning. In addition, these airplanes spend less than a ton of fuel in an hour and can fly for over five hours without interval. The daily flight "Yerevan-Stepanakert (Khankendi)-Yerevan" will open first and the geography of flights will gradually expand in line with the market requirement.
