The Turkic world has the potential to possess an influential position in world politics, Azerbaijani MP Ganira Pashayeva said in an interview with one of the most authoritative media outlets in Turkey - Milli newspaper.
In interview, Pashayeva addressed issues of duty of every Turk, each of Turkic states and communities to increase this capacity to express their views on the matter.
She spoke about the recent history of the Turkic world, the collapse of the Soviet Union, about the problems of Turks, particularly the occupation of Azerbaijani territories and the Khojaly genocide, the fate of refugees and internally displaced persons.
Pashayeva said about what actions the Azerbaijanis are waiting from the Turkic world, at the same time, about the contribution that Azerbaijan makes to the strengthening of Turkic unity. She also reviewed the steps that are needed to be taken for the bright future of the Turkic world.
