French Diplomat Says Karabakh Talks Deadlocked: Wikileaks

E-mail Print PDF

The western media continue the publication of Wikileaks secret materials.

Recently leaked cables contain details on the Karabakh conflict, France's Armenian community and the French authorities' attitude to sanctions against Iran. But the publication says nothing as to the date of elaborating the document.

At a meeting with American officials in Paris, French Foreign Ministry diplomat Roland Galharague talked about the Karabakh conflict settlement, complaining about the Minsk Group. He said the process had entered a deadlock, CNN Turk reported.

The French official said that despite being an OSCE Minsk Group co-chairing state, his country cannot exert pressures on Yerevan, considering the 500,000-strong Armenian community in France.

Speaking about the sanctions against Iran, Galharague said that instabilities in the country will negatively affect the Caucasus region, including Armenia, which maintains close trade relations with Iran.
