US State Department strongly opposes the discussions of the made-up “Armenian genocide” resolution in the House of Representatives, enewspf.com web-site reported.
In the briefing, held on December 17, the U.S. State Department Spokesman Philip Crowley said – “We are aware of a potential House Resolution 252, and we strongly oppose that resolution. We continue to believe that the best way for Turkey and Armenia to address their shared past is through their efforts to normalize relations”.
Of note, chairwoman of the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi initiated the debates related to the resolution on made-up “Armenian genocide”,
The resolution was adopted in the House of Representatives Committee on Foreign Affairs in March of the current year.
