E-mail Print PDF

The American Azerbaijanis Association, in cooperation with the Turkish private association, has appealed to the Congress.

Association has appealed to the Congress to protest the voting on the resolution on mythical Armenian genocide.

According to president of the US-Azerbaijan association Tomris Azeri, the letters addressed to the Congress, voices the request not to adopt the fictional Armenian genocide, considering the Azerbaijani-American and Turkish-American relations.

Chairman of the House of Representatives of the US Congress Nancy Pelosi, who will give her place to Republican John Baner in January, has proposed an initiative to discuss the resolution on “Armenian genocide” in the House of Representatives. The resolution is expected to be discussed today.

The Turkish embassy in US is already taking steps to avert this. For this purpose, the Turkish ambassador in US Namiq Tan started to post messages in Twitter.

The resolution was adopted on 4 March of this year in the Committee for External Affairs of the House of Representatives, with 23 congressmen voting for and 22 against it.
