The agreement on strategic partnership and mutual assistance between Azerbaijan and Turkey is of great importance.

Ruling party of Azerbaijan said that the statement came from head of the Azerbaijani-Turkish interparliamentary work group, deputy Nizami Jafarov.

He said Azerbaijan and Turkey are strategic partners and their relations are based on brotherhood principles.

"This agreement indicates a new stage in relations between the two fraternal countries. Turkey's position in the resolution of the Karabakh conflict remains changeless. It has repeated stated that the borders with occupant Armenia will not open unless the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan is restored. Turkey is committed to its words and we believe in it. The agreement which was ratified by the parliament will further strengthen the friendly and fraternal relations between the two countries", he said.
