Assembly of Turkish American Associations (ATAA), issued a message congratulating Francis Ricciardone and Matthew Bryza on their appointment as Ambassadors to Turkey and Azerbaijan. The message of ATAA President Gunay Evinch is as follows;
Dear Turkish American Community and Friends of Türkiye:
The ATAA Board of Directors and Board of Trustees conveys its warm congratulations to Francis Ricciardone and Matthew Bryza, who President Barack Obama announced would be recess appointed as Ambassadors to Türkiye and Azerbaijan, respectively. The appointments had been held up by Senators Barbara Boxer and Robert Menendez at the pleasure of the ultra-nationalist Armenian American lobby.
The ATAA believes that President Obama's decision is in the best interest of the United States in a critical region of the Caucasus, Eurasia, and Middle East. Azerbaijan and Turkey are multilevel strategic allies of the United States, from issues ranging from democracy and security to energy and trade.
