E-mail Print PDF

A special page dedicated to Sumgayit events was opened on the Azerbaijan General Prosecutor’s website.

It describes real essence of the crimes committed by the Armenians and pro-Armenian forces on February 27-29, 1988 in Sumgayit City of Azerbaijan. The events aimed to form negative image of the Azerbaijani people before the world community and to separate Nagorno Karabakh from Azerbaijan and to unite it to Armenia.

The page will publicize details of the investigation of the Sumgayit events by the USSR prosecutor’s office, results of the investigation of the case of one of the main organizers of the events Eduard Grigorian, testimony by the Armenian residents of Sumgayit about him, testimony by the Azerbaijanis deported from Armenia in 1988-1989 and settled in Sumgayit, as well as evidences of law-enforcement officials being in the office in that time.

The new page on the General Prosecutor’s website aims to deliver true information about the Sumgayit events to the world community.

The page is available on http://www.genprosecutor.gov.az/?/az/content/174/ .
