The U.S. State Department is not aware if the nominated by the president Barack Obama at the end of last year’s new ambassador to Azerbaijan, Turkey, the Czech Republic and Syria, have been sworn in yet. This was stated by Assistant Secretary of State Philip Crowley.
Ambassadors must take certain diplomatic at the State Department in the next couple of weeks before they take office, said Crowley.
On December 30 Barack Obama took advantage of the parliamentary recess to appoint four ambassadors, including ambassador to Turkey Francis Rikardone and in Azerbaijan - Matthew Bryza.
