The new composition of the US Congress will hardly raise the resolution on the so-called ‘Armenian genocide’ in the next two years.

According to 1news.az, in her interview to Hurriyet newspaper, one of the retinues of the new Congress speaker John Boner, congressman from the North Carolina State Virginia Fox, said the new composition of the law-making body of the United States  will hardly discuss the resolution on the so-called ‘Armenian genocide’ in the next two years.

She said during the republican majority in the Congress in 2005-2006, the resolution on ‘Armenian genocide’ has never been put on the agenda of the law-making body.

“One of the reasons for which the Armenian lobby was pressing on the previous Congress, was that it knew that this issue will not be put on the Congress agenda under republicans”, Fox said.

“I can say it for sure that neither the new speaker Jon Boner, nor the new head of the foreign relations commission Iren Ros Litinen will allow the considering of this issue”, Fox said.
