Winter session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) opens in Strasbourg on January 24-28.

Naira Zohrabyan, member of the Armenian delegation to PACE and head of the European integration committee, told NEWS.am that there are no issues directly referring to Armenia on the agenda. However, she noted there are certain issues that somehow affect problems the Armenian side is interested in. “I intend to voice three problems – structural reforms in the Council of Europe, migration problems and issues related to exchange of prisoners of war between CoE member states,” Zohrabyan said.

She also recalled that in January Turkey takes over chairmanship in the CoE ministerial committee. “The committee will be headed by Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu. Turkish FM and President Abdullah Gul plan to deliver speeches during January session of the PACE,” Zohrabyan noted, stressing she intends to direct a number of crucial issues for the Armenian people to the Turkish President and Foreign Minister.
