Azerbaijan's deputy has commented on the intention of the Turkish government to demolish the monument in honor of the Armenian-Turkish friendship.

'The demolition of the memorial is the internal issue of Turkey. The statement of the Turkish Premier about demolition of the memorial is based on definite arguments', the ruling party of Azerbaijan reports with reference to the deputy of Milli Majlis, head of the Azerbaijan-Turkey interparliamentary group of friendship, Nizami Jafarov.

According to Jafarov, Armenians have always been cruel to Turks and in the past years Armenia's steps to restore relations with Turkey were also insincere.

'Armenians aim to influence the international image of Turkey. But these attempts will not be successful. Everyone knows that Armenia is an aggressor and if this country wants good relations with Azerbaijan and Turkey, it must reject its occupational policy', he said.
