This statement is a new obstacle to Armenia-Turkey rapprochement.

Armenian Foreign Ministry regrets that Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan made a statement on demolition of “Monument of Humanity” in Kars, as such kind of statement only damage the establishment of Armenia-Turkey relations, Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian told the reporters on January 14.

“This statement is a new obstacle to Armenia-Turkey rapprochement,” the minister stressed.

Nalbandian emphasized the Armenian side does not intend to change its stance on Armenia-Turkey reconciliation process as there is no need for it.

“Turkey should change its policy and establish relations with Armenian without any preconditions. The international community is waiting for such a step from Turkey,” Nalbandian noted.
