Why Don't Iranian Officials Condemn Demolition Of Mosques In Occupied Lands?

Chairman of the Democratic Reforms Party, Azerbaijani MP Asim Mollazade has commented on the statement from Iranian Ayatollah Jafar Subhani.

According to MP Asim Mollazade, the statements of Iranian ayatollah on issues which are purely the internal affair of the country are the interference with the internal affairs of Azerbaijan.

'It is odd to hear the statements of Iranian politicians and figures who have been silent for all these years about the murder of tens of thousands of Muslims and turning of some hundreds of thousands into refugees  in the result of Armenian aggression in Azerbaijan. The Iranian officials do not condemn the demolition of mosques in the occupied Azerbaijani lands.

In addition, today Iran is an important economic and political partner of Armenia', Mollazade said.

'Azerbaijan does not interfere with the internal affairs of Iran, where basic rights of Azerbaijan are violated, Azerbaijani schools are closed, development of national culture is prohibited on the background of the fact that the Armenian community of Iran, which is almost 100 times smaller than Azerbaijani, has its own schools and the university in Armenian', Mollazade said.

Earlier ayatollah Jafar Subhani made comments in Iranian press on issues bearing no attitude to the state he represents and being the internal affair of Azerbaijan.
