“Armenia Should Mind Its Own Business”

E-mail Print PDF

This monument has nothing to do with Armenia.

Armenia should mind its own business, said former deputy chief of the Kars municipality Safet Ozdemir, commenting on the statement of Armenian FM Edward Nalbandian who voiced regret about the demolition of the memorial to the Armenian-Turkish friendship in Kars.

"It is our internal business whether to set the memorial or demolish it. Armenia has its own problems, let it mind its own business", Safet Ozdemir said, Turkish Erzrumgazetesi reports.

"This monument has nothing to do with Armenia. When we were building this monument, we wanted to show our peace-loving and friendly attitude to all our neighbors. But it seems that Armenians did not understand this and still have claims on these territories. I again voice my deep outrage with these statements and urge Armenia not to interfere with our internal affairs", Ozdemir said.
