Ganira Pashayeva: “Ask commissioner Hammarberg what kind of moral anguishes and how many Azerbaijani refugees and IDPs experience nearly 20 years”.
Yesterday in winter plenary session of PACE (Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe), member of Azerbaijani delegation Ganira Pashayeva made a speech during the discussions of “The obligation of member states of the Council of Europe to co-operate in prosecution of war crimes” report – reporter Croatian deputy Miljenko Doric.
G. Pashayeva expressed her regret at outrageous lie and the aspersions that the member of the Armenian delegation Ms. Zohrabian sounded again against Azerbaijan: "None of her sounded thoughts reflects the principles stipulated in the documents of the United Nations, the Council of Europe, the European Parliament, or the international organizations on human rights.
On the contrary, these organizations’ documents – PACE Resolution No. 1416, four resolutions of UN Security Council precisely state that 20 percent of Azerbaijani lands are occupied by Armenia and as a result 1 million people of the occupied territories are refugees and IDPs.
CoE Commissioner for Human Rights Thomas Hammarberg is also here, you may ask Mr. Hammarberg about this. He also knows very well how many Azerbaijani refugees and IDPs nearly 20 years can not return their own homes. Mr. Commissioner can tell you what kind of moral anguishes our refugees experience due to not being able to return their homes. It’s in itself a crime against humanity, civil population, and total violation of human rights, isn’t it? Besides it, the Armenian armed forces murdered thousands of Azerbaijanis”.
As proof of the said, in PACE hall G. Pashayeva presented Khojaly genocide-related photos, which reflected the Armenian savageries, made by Heydar Aliyev Foundation, to the parliamentarians.
