Armenia’s state-run film studio ‘Armenian National Cinema Center’ negotiating with famous producer Steven Spielberg and the writer of Schindler’s List, Steven Zaillian.

Speaking to the press, Director of the Armenian National Cinema Center Gevorg Gevorgyan said that they aim to prepare a movie on “Armenian genocide” for the 100th anniversary of 1915 incidents. “We want it to be more impressing than the films ‘Mayrig’ or ‘Ararat’,” said he.

The studio is planning to release the movie on the April 24, which Armenians assume as the date of begining of so called Armenian genocide in Ottoman Empire. Gevorgyan stated that they are working on the movie and both Armenian and foreign actors will play in it.
