Director of the Institute of Information Technologies of ANAS Rasim Aliguliyev: “Azerbaijan is ahead in the information war with Armenia.”
“Recently, very important domains which reflect values of Azerbaijan are taken and used by Azerbaijani citizens”.
“Despite efforts of Armenia, Azerbaijan is ahead in the information war”, Director of the Institute of Information Technologies of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) Rasim Aliguliyev said. To him, a lot of websites have been created against information war conducted against Azerbaijan and which reflect interests of our country. Not only state bodies, but also business organizations, NGOs and youth have joined for creation of these sites: “Recently, websites related to Khojaly tragedy have become more active. The state and Heydar Aliyev Foundation support this activity”.
Aliguliyev said that people living in Azerbaijan have already known ways of formation of the virtual space, which sites are necessary for it and how to use them in this regard: “Moreover, number of internet users has reached maximum level, nearly 50% of the population uses internet. Number of Azerbaijanis in social networks such as www.facebook.com, www.youTube.com, www.wikipedia.org, www.twitter.com. It is good news. Because Azerbaijan is represented in virtual space well. On one hand, these sites give a chance to represent interests of Azerbaijan, on the other hand, the void is eliminated in such a way in order to prevent Armenian interference into values of Azerbaijan. Widening of the information connected with Azerbaijan, translating them into other languages makes us tolerant against any information attack”.
Aliguliyev said that if in past, Armenians could conduct counterpropaganda against Azerbaijan by azerbaijanizationing of empty domains, this situation had already been changed in favor of Azerbaijan: “Intellectual level of citizens increases day-by-day in order to take new domains and correspond them with Azerbaijani interests. Recently, very important domains which reflect values of Azerbaijan are taken and used by Azerbaijani citizens. This emptiness is gradually eliminated”.
