The Armenian authorities once again want to mislead the public, Azerbaijani MP, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Musa Gasimli said.
"Armenia is increasingly at an impasse and wants to mislead public opinion, seeking to win over international opinion," Gasimli said.
The Armenian Heritage Party put into circulation a draft statement on the recognition of crimes against Armenians in Azerbaijan in 1988-1994 as genocide. This was initiated b MP Larisa Alaverdyan for parliamentary discussion.
Gasimli believes that the authorities are trying to consolidate its position in Armenia.
"This move is an attempt to cover up the aggression of Armenia, and the genocide committed against Azerbaijanis," the deputy said.
Gasimli stressed that Armenia has committed aggression against Azerbaijan, taken over its territories, committed genocide against the people and turned them into refugees.
