Series Of Events On Khojaly Genocide To Be Held In Turkey

Azerbaijani embassy in Turkey is planning to hold series of events on commemoration of Khojaly genocide victims. The embassy’s press service told APA that Turkey’s Gazi University and Azerbaijan’s Medical University will hold teleconference to commemorate the genocide victims.

A commemoration event will be organized jointly with the Ankara’s Etimesgut municipality and participants of the commemoration event held jointly with Kechioren municipality will lay a wreath in front of the monument dedicated to the memory of Khojaly tragedy victims. The embassy will also organize joint events together with TURKSAM (Turkish Strategic Research Center) and one of the leading Turkish think tanks – USAK (International Strategic Research Center). Series of articles will be published in local newspapers. 

The embassy and Diaspora representatives are also planning to organize commemoration events on 19th anniversary of Khojaly genocide in Samsun, Adana and Kayseri. Local media representatives will be invited to cover the events. The students of Ankara universities, students of police and military academies and representatives of Diaspora organizations will participate in the events. They will collect signatures within the “Justice for Khojaly” campaign for recognizing the Khojaly tragedy as a crime against mankind. 

The embassy will also send press releases about the Khojaly genocide to the embassies, international organizations, government agencies, think tanks, media organizations and political analysts.
