State representative of Massachusetts responded to the letter of the US Azeris Network.

State representative responded to the letter of the US Azeris Network, dedicated to the 19th anniversary of the termination of civilians in Khojaly by Armenian armed formations.

'As your state representative, I appreciate your contribution and make your notes regarding the moments, which you touched upon in the letter on the 19th anniversary of massacres in Khojaly', state representative of Massachusetts Angelo J.Puppolo Jr. said in the response letter to USAN representative.

'Be sure that I will study these issues and will make everything possible for the memory of these events to be preserved', the state representative writes.

The letter, sent by USAN to the state representative, notes that the tragedy of 26 February 1992 was the biggest massacre in the South Caucasus.

It points that the crime against Khojaly civilians was condemned worldwide and widely covered in national newspapers and magazines.

The letter also says Armenia’s current president Serzh Sargsyan in his interview with British journalist Thomas De Vaal, openly recognized the fact of termination of civilians in Khojaly.

'26 February 2011 is the Day of Memory of Azerbaijanis, who will always remember the events of 26 February 1992, the same as Americans will remember 11 September 2001. We urge you to put pressure on the Armenian government for the latter to assume responsibility for this massacre and also withdraw troops from the  occupied regions of Azerbaijan', USAN said.
