E-mail Print PDF

'Azerbaijan expects the Minsk Group co-chairs to take definite steps to solve the Karabakh conflict, rather than statements'.

The statement came from deputy chairman of the Azerbaijani Parliament (Milli Majlis) Committee for Security and Defense Aydin Mirzazade.

The recent visit of the Minsk Group co-chairs to the region took place on 10-11 February. Meetings with the leadership of Azerbaijan and Armenia were held by results of the visit. The statement was also made by results of the visit.

'The recent statements of the Minsk Group co-chairs do not meet the interests of the Azerbaijani society. The Azerbaijani side expects the co-chairs a more objective position and intensification of their activity, expects its assistance to the soonest solution to the Karabakh conflict, within the framework of existing opportunities', Mirzazade said while commenting on the recent statement of the Minsk Group co-chairs by results of the visit to the region.

The deputy called this statement dry, of informative nature and not differing from previous positions.

'The OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs, as usually, again recommend the parties to continue the negotiation process and call for peace', he said.
