Victims Of Khojaly Genocide To Be Commemorated In New York

Young Turks Circle and Azerbaijan Association of New York will organize a special ceremony to commemorate the victims of Khojaly Genocide. The participants will hold protest actions in front of the permanent representation of Armenia to the UN as well as in Dag Hammarskjold Plaza Park.

Armenian military forces committed massacre against hundreds of Azerbaijani civilians of a small town of Khojaly in the Nagorno Karabakh region of Azerbaijan on the night from February 25 to February 26, 1992, which constitutes one of the worst crimes against humanity.

The military takeover of Khojaly and consequent cold blooded shooting of the ambushed convoy of civilians who tried to flew the town through humanitarian corridor left 613 dead-most of them elders, women and children.
