A film telling the story of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict through the eyes of an eight-year old boy is to premiere in Washington and Baku.
The action in Refugee: Life Story of Anar Usubov begins during the collapse of the Soviet Union and chronicles the tragedies of the war and its aftermath.
Anar is a child from the town of Khojaly, where during the night of 25-26 February 1992, 613 Azerbaijani civilians were massacred in an attack by Armenian forces, backed by an ex-Soviet regiment.
The Washington screening of Refugee: Life Story of Anar Usubov, organized by the Karabakh Foundation, will take place at 7.45 on 24 February at the Avalon Theatre. There will be a discussion afterwards with the film's Turkish director and producer, Dr Cem Oguz.
Tickets for the Washington screening are available through the website Eventbrite.com.
Refugee will be shown in Baku at the Young Spectators' Theatre at 17.00 on 21 February. Director Cem Oguz and Azerbaijan's culture minister, Abulfas Garayev, are to speak at the screening.
