E-mail Print PDF

Chairman of Turkey-Azerbaijan interparliamentary friendship group Mustafa Kabakcı said members of the Turkish parliament will mark the 19th anniversary of the Khojaly genocide.

He said hearings would be held on the issue at the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, adding the Turkish MPs would also participate in various relevant events.

Kabakcı pointed out the Turkish parliamentarians, commemorating the anniversary of the tragedy, want to draw the world community`s attention to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

Kabakcı said the fact that the Grand National Assembly would approve this week the agreement on strategic partnership and mutual support between Azerbaijan and Turkey was a vivid evidence of high-level relationship between the two countries.

The agreement provides for strengthening military, political, economic, security and technical cooperation between Azerbaijan and Turkey and joint cooperation on national security issues.
