The conference “Khojaly genocide: terrible truth about the Karabakh events” was held in Moscow. The event was dedicated to 19th anniversary of the Khojaly tragedy committed by Armenian criminals against the peaceful Azerbaijanis, APA reported. Vice president of the Russian Azerbaijanis’ National-Cultural Autonomy, professor of the People’s Friendship University of Russia Mirashraf Fatiyev organized the conference.
First videotapes took by National Hero Chingiz Mustafayev in Khojaly and then videotape of former military commandant of Nagorno Karabakh Autonomous Region Alexander Volokh’s address was shown at the event. Volokh said the international community was cool and even shameless in its reaction to Khojaly genocide. He said this tragedy should be spiritual crucial point in objective solution of the problem. “It was not a war for independence, but it was a war for occupation of territory. Those, who killed innocent people and committed this terrible tragedy, must be called as war criminals”.
Author of “Karabakh Diary”, academician Yuriy Pompeyev, author of “Soul’s memory”, publicist Alexander Fomenkov, publicist Avigdor Eksin, vice president of the Strategic Development Center Grigoriy Trophimchuk said in their speeches that they supported Azerbaijan’s fair position. Fomenkov said those, who committed genocide, were taking high positions in Armenia now. “Those, who led massacre in Khojaly, - Serzh Sargsyan is the president of Armenia, Seyran Onahian is defense minister. They confirmed that they committed these crimes. Therefore they must be punished”.
