Leaders of political parties in Turkey have made statements marking the 19th anniversary of the Khojaly genocide.

Chairman of the Nationalist Movement Party, Devlet Bahceli, said the Turkish nation would never forget the crimes committed by Armenians against civilians.

Bahceli expressed regret over a double-standard approach to Armenians` crimes, saying the international community is turning a blind eye on the issue.

“The Turkish nation will never forget the Khojaly genocide and never forgive those who committed it,” he said.

Bahceli also said the Turkey-Armenia borders would not open until Armenia ended occupation of Azerbaijan`s territories.

Chairman of the Great Unity Party, Yalcin Topcu, condemned the world community`s “turning a blind eye to the Khojaly massacre”.

“The Khojaly genocide is one of the most brutal crimes against Azerbaijanis…”

Head of the Liberal Democratic Party, Cem Toker, said commemorating the victims of the Khojaly genocide was “our moral debt”.

Toker called on the Turkish government to speed up efforts towards filing a lawsuit at an international court against those who committed the Khojaly genocide.
