Armenia Will Not Support Turkish Nominee For OSCE Secretary General

E-mail Print PDF

Armenia will not support Turkish candidate running for Secretary General of the OSCE, Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian said in an interview with the Austrian Der Standard.

“We have not made a decision on the candidates yet. But concerning the Turkish candidate we stated that we cannot support him because Turkish representatives in different international organizations generally differ with their biased approaches and do not waste any opportunity in order not to express themselves against Armenia’s positions,” he noted.

“That means that one of the other candidates could be supported by our side,” Nalbandian replied asked whether Armenia will back former Austrian foreign minister Ursula Plassnik. He also added soon Armenia will narrow the list.
