“Parliamentary Elections in Turkey Will Not Lead To Changes in The Relations With Armenia”

E-mail Print PDF

The parliamentary elections in Turkey will not lead to changes either inside the country or in the Armenian-Trunkfish relations, expert of Turkish studies Levon Hovsepyan says. He considers that the ruling party will keep the power and will undertake the second stage of constitutional amendments.

According to the expert, even if the Armenian candidates are elected, they will implement the policy of the Turkish authorities, while the Armenia community will not benefit in any way.

Levon Hovsepyan notes that the predictions of research organizations will come true, as it was the case in 2007. According to forecasts, the ruling Justice and Development Party will receive more than 48% of the votes. 28% will support the People’s Democratic Party, while the Nationalist movement will receive 10%.

According to the expert, others have no chances to cross the threshold of 10%. More than 20 parties are running for Parliament in Turkey.
