A young boy has been killed by Armenian sniper fire in the village of Orta Garvand in Azerbaijan's Agdam District.
Fariz Arif oglu Badalov received a bullet wound to the head as he played outside his house on 8 March, APA news agency reported.
Fariz died on his way to Agdam District central hospital.
Sniper fire is a frequent occurrence along the contact line separating Azerbaijani and Armenian troops.
The OSCE, whose Minsk Group is mediating a settlement to the conflict, has been pushing for the withdrawal of snipers from the contact line.
Three days before the incident, the Armenian and Azerbaijani presidents met in Sochi with the mediation of the Russian president to discuss a settlement to the conflict. In a statement after the meeting, the presidents pledged to seek further confidence-building measures, including completing the exchange of prisoners of war and seeking to "resolve all contentious issues peacefully".
The contact line marks the positions of the two countries' troops when a ceasefire was signed in 1994. Armenian armed forces occupy a swathe of Azerbaijani territory, including the Nagorno-Karabakh region and seven surrounding districts. Despite the ceasefire, no long-term peace agreement has been reached.
The nub of the conflict remains unresolved - the competing claims of territorial integrity, which Azerbaijan insists takes precedence in the case of Karabakh, and self-determination, which Armenia wants to see for the Armenians of Karabakh.
