"Armenia Making Situation Tenser"

E-mail Print PDF

'Armenia is making the situation tenser.

Every time after or before a high-level meeting it attempts to violate peace talks by provocative actions. It has already become a tradition. We witnessed the similar situation during the Sochi meeting of the presidents. Armenian Armed Forces fired on our positions in about ten directions,' spokesman for Azerbaijani Defense Ministry, Lieutenant-Colonel Eldar Sabiroglu said.

Eldar Sabiroglu said it would be naivety to think that all these are accidental.

'The role of the Armenian government and military leadership is undeniable. Everything is done directly by their instructions. This is clear and we do not say something new. The states interested in the peaceful solution of the conflict, especially Minsk Group must focus their attention on the unconstructive activity of Armenia. Otherwise, everything can change in a moment and it would be very difficult to prevent it,' he said.

Noting that Armenian Armed Forces frequently fire on the settlements, use weapons against the civilians, Eldar Sabiroglu said the incident happened on March 8 proves this.

'Badalov Fariz Arif, 10, resident of Orta Gervend village was wounded by a sniper from the occupied Shikhlar village of Agdam region at 16.58. He died on the way to hospital. What was the guilt of this 10-year-old child? Did the Armenian officer, who ordered to fire on him, think about his child at that moment? Hardly.

A child, old person, woman do not make difference for them. When will Seyran Ohanyan and others, who killed tens of children in Khojaly, give up killing children? It seems that the enemy has not got tired of firing on children. Azerbaijani Armed Forces did not open fire in order not to make the situation much tenser. We took this step in order not to break the newly-inked promises. But the killers of children must know that every time these savageries have serious results.'
