Spanish Parliament Refused To Discuss A Bill On So Called Armenian Genocide

The bill on Armenian genocide allegations, submitted to the Spanish Parliament by Republican Left of Catalonia, was declined, Panorama.am reported.

According to NTV, the Basque Nationalist Party voted in favour of the bill. Negative votes were given by the Spanish Socialist Workers’ Party, People’s Party and Convergence and Union, Navarrese People’s Union.

As the Foreign Relations Committee chairman, representative of the ruling party Isabel Pozuelo stated, “Spain is not interested in recognizing century-old events. At present, a conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan must be settled.”
