Seminar “Azerbaijan-Armenia-Turkey, Unreconciled Differences” organized by Azerbaijani Federation in Sweden and the Union of Turkish Federations in Sweden was held in Stockholm, the capital of Sweden, press service of the Azerbaijani State Committee for Diaspora told.

Scott Taylor, Canadian journalist, who covered a number of military operations, was the main guest and speaker of the seminar. The previews of the documentaries made by Scott Taylor about Iraq, Afghanistan, Africa and former Yugoslavia were screened at the outset of the event. Following this, detailed information will be given about the book “Unreconciled Differences: Turkey, Armenia, and Azerbaijan”. Scott Taylor said he faced difficulties for writing this book and said the Armenian communities became angry and threatened him because he did not say “Armenian genocide”. Canadian journalist said the Armenian community threatened him with dismissal, then with death, and even threatened his family.

Scott Taylor said recognition of the “Armenian genocide” by the parliaments of Canada and Sweden was connected with the domestic policy factors.
“The French population of Canada underwent genocide by the English in 1837, thousands of people were killed, there is censor concerning this genocide in the English literature and sources in Canada, while the country’s parliament recognizes the “Armenian genocide”, which has not been confirmed by a number of scientists. This is a double standard and can not be accepted,” he said.

The Canadian journalist said the Armenian Diaspora abroad is much more nationalist than the Armenians living in Armenia. According to him, Karabakh and the surrounding regions of Azerbaijan were occupied by Armenia due to the financial aid of the Armenian Diaspora.

“If the UN imposes sanctions on financial aids to Armenia, this occupation may finish soon,” he said.

Scott Taylor said his next book will be about South Azerbaijan.
