Azerbaijani And Armenian Religious Leaders Likely To Meet In November

Religious leaders of Azerbaijan and Armenia – chairman of Caucasian Muslims Board Allahshukur Pashazadeh and Catholicos of All Armenians Garegin II will likely meet in November within the framework of the meeting of the CIS Interreligious Council, head of inter-church relations office of Echmiadzin, Bishop Hovakim Manukyan said, APA reports quoting Interfax.

He said that the CIS Interreligious Council co-chaired by Allahshukur Pashazadeh will hold a meeting in Echmiadzin on November 28-30. Hovakim Manukyan did not rule out meeting of the two religious leaders.

Allahshukur Pashazadeh, Garegin II and Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia held a trilateral meeting within the framework of the religious summit in Baku in April, 2010. A joint Declaration was signed basing on the outcomes of the meeting. The document called on the political leaders to increase efforts towards the resolution of Nagorno Karabakh conflict.
