Armenian Association Protests Against Book Denying Armenian Allegations

E-mail Print PDF

A group of Armenian activists in France rallied Sunday outside the Turkish Embassy in Paris to protest against the Turkish stand on so called Armenian genocide, French-Armenian Journalist Jean Eckian reported from Paris.

The members of Armenian cultural association Nor Serunt protested against the publication of the book "2000 Years of History of Turkey" which was made available to the French public free of charge.

The protesters voiced criticism of Salon de Livres which had published the book denying the Armenian genocide allegations.

In this connection, the Coordination council of the Armenian Organizations in France (CCAF) CCAF issued a statement denouncing  “a new Turkish aggression on the French territory” and said it is planning to file a complaint.

France recognized the Armenian Genocide allegations on 29 January, 2001 and the National Assembly adopted a bill penalizing denial of Armenian pointview of 1915 incidents on 12 October 2006.
