Book On Genocide Published In Baku

The book by the editor-in-chief of "Şərq" newspaper Akif Ashirli "Genocide on March 31 at the press of 1918-1920" has been published. The book tells of the massacre perpetrated by Armenians against the Azerbaijani people.

The book presents the facts, which may be new to the historiography.

The book was printed at the publishing house "Elm və Təhsil" ("Science and Education").

The Baku Council (consisting mainly of Armenians) and Dashnak armed gangs committed genocide against the local Turkic-Muslim population of Baku and various regions of Baku province, including Shamakhi, Guba, Khachmaz, Lankaran, Hajigabul, Salyan, and other regions of Azerbaijan - Zangezur, Karabakh and Nakhchivan from March 30 to April 3, 1918. According to the official figures, Armenian bandits killed over 12,000 of Azerbaijanis only in Baku, tens of thousands still missing. The number of dead Muslims all over Azerbaijan amounted to over 50,000 people.
