The US ambassador to Azerbaijan has praised the work of the OSCE Minsk Group mediators.

Matthew Bryza made the remarks when commenting on the OSCE-led field assessment report on the parts of Azerbaijan occupied by Armenia, APA reported.

"The report speaks for itself. I would not like to comment on the report, because the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs have already issued a statement," he told journalists.

"As far as I know, the Azerbaijani side has accepted this report. I can only say that the co-chairs are making serious efforts and demonstrating high professionalism to solve the conflict," he continued

The OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs presented the final report of the assessment mission to OSCE Secretary General Marc Perrin de Brichambaut.

An executive summary of the report, published on the OSCE website, notes: "The harsh reality of the situation in these territories has reinforced the view of the co-chairs that the status quo is unacceptable, and that only a peaceful, negotiated settlement can bring the prospect of a better, more certain future to the people who used to live in the territories and those who live there now."
