Statement came from Azerbaijani MP Musa Gasimli, during a conference on the Day of Azerbaijani Genocide.

Some people in Turkey believe the problem of Nagorno Karabakh is not a problem of Ankara, but they are deeply mistaken, since this problem is as painful for Turkey as it is for Azerbaijan.

Timeturk reports that the statement came from MP Musa Gasimli, during a conference on the Day of Azerbaijani Genocide.

According to the deputy, Armenians committed Azerbaijanis genocide in 1918 only because they were Turks.

“Thus, Armenians decided to revenge Turkey for the alleged ‘Armenian genocide’ in 1915. Unfortunately, this fact was withheld for the long time in Turkey and this encouraged Armenians, who used 1915 events against Turkey”, he said.

Gasimli said that Armenians continue their ‘games’ against Azerbaijan and Turkey.

“By initiating the Karabakh campaign, Armenians set the goal to weaken Turkey. By occupying Zengilan, they showed their real goals, since this strategic region of Azerbaijan was, in fact, a bridge between Turkey and the Turkic world”, the deputy said.

The deputy urged Turkey and Azerbaijan to be cautious. “As usually, Armenians make use of definite forces as means of pressure on Turkey and Azerbaijan. The smeary oil games are behind it all, we must be cautious in order not to repeat the previous mistakes”.
