Armenian President holds meetings in Serbia.
Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan, who is on 2-day official visit to Serbia, held a private meeting with his Serbian counterpart Boris Tadic.
At the press conference President Sargsyan and President Tadic stressed their commitment to developing bilateral relations and political dialogue between Armenia and Serbia. President Sargsyan informed his Serbian counterpart of the present stage of the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process. Both sides agreed that a peace settlement of the conflict has no alternative and use of force or threat of force is unacceptable in the context of international legal norms.
The people of the 'Republic of Nagorno-Karabakh' have no future if a part of Azerbaijan, Serzh Sargsyan declared after his meeting with Boris Tadic of Serbia, stating that after the collapse of the USSR, people of 'NKR' have been self-determined, have protected their country in a forced war and now it would be impossible to deprive them of their independence.
“People of Nagorno-Karabakh, who claimed their right of self-determination after the collapse of the USSR, cannot have any future within Azerbaijan. In a forced war, they have defended their land and it’s impossible to make them deny their independence,” President said.
President Serzh Sargsyan said that he had introduced to his Serbian counterpart the running situation over the negotiations, and underlined they had shared viewpoints that peaceful resolution of both Kosovo and NK issues have no alternative.
The press office of President Sargsyan informed that in Belgrade Serzh Sargsyan also held meetings with Serbian Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic and Speaker of the Serbian National Assembly Slavica Dukic Dejanovic.
Armenian President and Serbian Prime Minister discussed the development of bilateral economic cooperation and trade. Both sides also stressed the potential of the tourist industry.

According to the press office of President Sargsyan, Armenia and Serbia signed two intergovernmental agreements concerning air communication and abolition of entry visas for holders of diplomatic and service passports. Both sides also signed a program of cooperation between the Ministries of Culture of Armenia and Serbia on implementation of cultural cooperation agreement in 2011-2013.
Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian, who is a member of the President-led Armenian delegation presently on a visit to Belgrade, held a meeting April 4 with his Serbian counterpart Vuk Jeremic.
The press service of the Armenian foreign office informed that Serbian President Boris Tadic`s visit to Armenia, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan`s visit to Serbia, as well as bilateral presidential agreements, open a new chapter in bilateral relations. This is evidence of mutual willingness to develop bilateral cooperation. The Armenian FM pointed out that regular ministerial meetings enable the sides to supervise the implementation of presidential agreements and exchange views on various issues.
The sides thoroughly discussed a wide range of issues of Armenian-Serbian relations, particularly bilateral cooperation within international agencies, consultations between foreign offices, expansion of legal underpinnings, economic cooperation and cultural exchanges.
